(Our story is still being written! Read the future of Troop 245.)
If you visited the Shack on the evening of May 6th, 2010, you wouldn’t see much. Just five boys—and a handful of adults—running around, playing games, and learning things. But, visiting now—given two years, a few backpacks, and a few additions—you’d see something different: the group of five boys has grown to twenty young men, and the handful of adults has grown as well. But we’re still running around, playing games and learning things, and that’s one thing that’ll never change.
Our goal as a troop is to make authentic, Christ-loving leaders out of the Scouts God gives us. The troop was started because the leaders of our sponsor church, Calvary Chapel of Oxnard, saw that there was a need for a place where boys can mature into men in a Godly and right way. That said, we’d love to have your boy be a part of whatever God is going to do with us next!
The Where & When
We meet at 7pm on most Thursday evenings (check our calendar for exceptions) over at the Shack, which is our Calvary Chapel’s youth group room. So, if you have, or are, a boy between the ages of 11 and 18, let us know you’re coming, and then stop by!
